NEIL WILLIAMS an IDAHO Democrat

I am a husband, a father, a grandfather.  I have been an employee, a foreman, a manager, a business owner.  I AM AN IDAHOAN.  I believe in Idaho and I believe in America.

My parents and grandparents helped to pioneer this state.  They knew that their hard work and sacrifice would make a better world for those who came after them.  I believe it is our responsibility to build on the legacy they left us.  Idaho is a state with a great future –  if we are wise enough to plan and manage that future now.

For too long our state has been without the balance that comes by bringing differing points of view to the table.  While Idahoans typically vote    only about 60% Republican, the current Idaho Senate is an overwhelming 80% Republican.  With this large majority comes a sense of entitlement.  Decisions are often made behind closed doors before all perspectives have the chance to even be heard.  Where there is no opposition there is no accountability.

Farmers, ranchers, and attorneys are all well represented in our State Senate.  Not so well represented are the urban working families, like mine, who are the majority of District 33 residents.  With your vote in November you will have the opportunity to choose the best person to represent you and Idaho Falls.  

I am asking you for the chance to bring some balance back to the Idaho Senate.

Bart Davis is a fine man.  He has served the citizens of this state honorably.  He supports traditional values, as I do.  He serves in a high level position in the Idaho Senate – Majority Leader.  This is a tribute to his political skills, but I believe that it actually works against your interests.  The Majority Leader is responsible for carrying out the agenda of the majority party.  He would be remiss in his duty if he were to focus on the unique interests of one district.  However, that is exactly what the voters of District 33 deserve – someone who represents their unique interests. 

As your State Senator it would be my privilege to represent the working families of Idaho Falls.  I ask you for the chance to do that.  I ask for your support and your vote.
